Project Ithuta Design Scheme
In the autumn semester of second-year (2017), we were tasked in groups of three to design to produce construction drawings for a creche in an impoverished village in South Africa.
Our design comprised of two curved teaching buildings nurturing a central courtyard. The buildings were made from earth-filled bags and timber, with a steel frame supporting the stepped roof.
